Schülerbericht der Abschlussfahrt nach England 2017

Last week we went on our classtrip to England. We started on the 27th of August at 5am at the station of St.Ingbert. We travelled by coach for eight hours, then we took the ferry from Calais to Dover. After about two hours we arrived in Dover, where we saw the white chalk cliffs from afar. Then, there was an one-hour drive to our houses where we lived for the followingfour days. Everybody was very tired.

After arriving in Canterbury we grabbed our suitcases, ate something and then we went to sleep. On Monday we went to a trip to the city of Canterbury. We visited the city, bought some souvenirs and in the evening we went to the supermarket to buy something to cook. Back in our houses, we cooked and ate together. After dinner our class went to a large sportsfield and played football with our teacher. That was a great first day.

The next day we went to Hastings and visited the old castle there. We took a lot of photos here. After this sightseeing we went to the city of Hastings and went shopping. Three hours later we went to the rocky beach of Hastings. Most people went swimming, the others sunbathed, listened to music or talked to each other.

On Wednesday we finally visited London. It was great and very funny, but unfortunately this was also the only day on which it rained. It was still pretty cool to see all the big and well-known buildings you know from pictures. We saw the London Eye, the Elizabeth Tower, the Houses of Parliament, St.Paul's Cathedral, the Tower Bridge, the Buckingham Palace, the Trafalgar Square, Westminster Abbey and much more. It was a really great day, but my favorite day was Thursday.

On the last day we walked along the white chalk cliffs of Dover, which we have already seen from the ferry. It was great, the view over the sea and the landscape were wonderful and we took a lot of photos. The rest of the day went by quietly. In the evening everyone began to pack their suitcases and cleaned the houses. On the next morning at 8am we started the return journey. It was already a bit sad because it was a really nice week and I met many new people, however, I was also very happy to be back at homewhere my family was waiting for me.
